From Marina

Hey what’s up? It’s Marina here. This week has been rainy every time we take a hike and windy when we’re not taking a hike. This place can have its’ very own weather sometimes. The views are very amazing here because of all of the mountains have lots of snow on them. I have a view from my bedroom window that has a river running down the side of a little hill or mountain. Today it is very windy and you can see the water of the river splashing to the side of the hill.

A couple of days ago, it was very rainy and on the hike the weather, it got hot and cold. First you’re getting hot, and then you would take off a layer of clothing. Then you would get cold, so you would have to put that layer back on you. It got very annoying after a while! The minute that it would stop raining, you would have to take off the raincoat, then, it would rain again, and you have to get the raincoat out of the backpack, and put it back on. Now, that is annoying.

The next morning, we went on the longest hike I think that I have ever been on. The hike was about five hours long. We got up at about,

8:00 a.m. Then, we got to have glacier water to fill up our water bottles with. It was the best water I have ever tasted in my whole life. We got the water from a little stream that was hidden by bushes. The guide said that the water had no sediment in it. You would think that the water would pick up some sediment on its way down from the mountain.

After we had lunch, we had to hike for about 15 minutes more until we got to the boat. The boat then would take us to two glaciers that we would be able to see up close. The glacier was huge! It was my first time to see a glacier up close and from a distance.
